Name: Justin L. Vesser
AKA: VthePresident
State: Alabama
Years Hunting: 4
GNRS Detector: White’s DFX
Biography: I live in Birmingham, AL, but I am from East Tennessee and have family in Central Virginia, and I hunt in all three areas. I have searched civil war sites and old gold mining camps, but I am really looking forward to searching for older parts of American History. My favorite finds include a Southern Cross of Honor, which was awarded to Confederate Veterans, which I was able to return to the grandson of the soldier, and a silver pocket watch case with maker’s mark from 1794. This will be my first GNRS, and I can’t wait to see Team White’s win!

Hello, my name is Reg Pitt and I live in central Ohio. I’ve reactivated my metal detecting interest over the last 5 years or so, after a very long hiatus. I’m a retired history and psychology teacher and have a very lovely, understanding wife of 38 years who beach/surf detects in Venice, Fl. with her Whites Surf Pro I. I also have 2 little grandsons, 1½ & 3, who are already brainwashed Buckeyes and, if I have anything to do with it, soon to be history buffs.

My name is Scott Heindl and I live in Tallahassee, Florida. My Depot nickname is “shovel head”. I have been enjoying all types of metal detecting and bottle hunting for about the last ten years. My first GNRS was in 2005 and I have been using the DFX since it was introduced in 2004. I look foward to 2 full days of hunting and representing Team Whites at this years GNRS.

My name is Billy Campbell. I have the Treasure Depot User Name “Omega Relic Hunter”. I grew up in Harnett County N.C. Metal detecting has been my hobby for over 25 years.
I am a White’s Metal Detector Dealer and use a White’s DFX detector with an Eagle II for backup. Anything related to history is my favorite dig. My White’s detector has helped me uncover many years of history.

Hi All! My name is David Nolan and I am originally from NY, but moved to North Eastern Pennsylvania two years ago. I have been detecting for 17 years with my son & two brothers. I mainly look for rev war & colonial artifacts. I have attended three North South Hunts and this will be my second GNRS. My greatest find is a 1700’s tomahawk pipe from the Battle of White Plains. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and detecting in the “low country.”

My dad Ted started taking me relic hunting when I was five. Back in those days, two or three guys would buy a detector and share it. One would use the machine and the other would dig. I have been digging relics pretty much all my life, mostly here in Orange Co. Virginia. My wife calls my machine “My Stick Woman” since I am out with it almost as much as her (maybe more!!). I look forward to helping Team Whites win this year but no matter who wins we will all have a great time!

My name is Dave Mielke and I live in Highland, Michigan. My Treasure Depot name is Dave from Michigan and I have been metal detecting for about 8 years.
I have been interested in relic hunting ever since I was a kid, but this will be only my 2nd real relic hunt. My first hunt was this years North / South Hunt. I didn’t find alot of great stuff but had a great time hunting and meeting everyone in the group. I now have some great new friends and I learned alot!!!
Where I live is around alot of lakes, so you will find me detecting mostly in the water. The water detector I use is a Mine Lab Excalibur. I will be using my Whites XLT on this hunt. I am really looking forward to this hunt and seeing everyone again!
