My name is John Powell and I will be attending the GNRS. I live in Southeast Georgia in Wayne County. I began metal detecting in Savannah, Ga in the mid 1980’s and have been active since. My primary interest would be hunting for relics from the Civil War period back to the early Colonial era. I have been fortunate in being able to travel to England to detect for relics that predate what we recover in the USA by over 2 thousand years but I still get a thrill in any relic I find on home turf. Most of my detecting is done in Georgia and the low country of South Carolina and the Treasure Depot hunts. I will be using my White’s MXT as primary and my older Eagle SL as a back up.
